and 1.5 miles from Friskney Village centre where you
will find the village shop, the Anchor public house and the parish
church. The property is surrounded by flat open farmland
where wildlife is abundant. There is ample off road parking
for guests and a large garden. Sunset House
is ideally located for Historic Boston and Skegness with
Fantasy Island, Bottons Funfair, Butlins Funcoast World, Natureland
seal sanctuary,Gibralter point
and soft sandy beaches just 9 miles
away. A little further north there is Anderby Creek and Mablethorpe. For
keen anglers there is day fishing at Green Haven next door and
for birdwatchers, 15 minutes by car, there is RSPB
Freiston Shore and the Wash saltmarshes.
note: I have enjoyed several visits to Sunset House and will be
returning. A very warm and friendly place to stay.
Farmhouse is a magnificent 15th century traditional Suffolk Farmhouse
dating from 1402. The present owners have just finished restoring the
whole house and have preserved many of the original features with some
huge exposed beams and some fine oak panelling in the breakfast room.

Arbour Hill is a
beautiful Grade II listed Georgian model farm designed
by the renowned architect John Carr of York for the 4th
Earl of Holderness in about 1766. The Earl planned four
model farms built in the Palladian style, each situated
at one of the four points of the compass, so that when
his wife looked out from her home in the nearby Hornby
Castle she would be reminded of her native Italy.

A cottage for five on
the edge of the village with spectacular views of the Dales countryside.
Swallows Nest is a surprisingly spacious extended 19th Century former lead
miners cottage, situated at the end of a terrace of such cottages,
enjoying a very peaceful setting on the edge of the village. The cottage
has been extensively renovated and refurbished to a high standard, and
retains much of its original character, with fully beamed ceilings
downstairs, exposed stonework, an inglenook-style fireplace in the lounge
and double-glazing throughout. There are solid oak floors downstairs and
some low doorways, making this an interesting property which has been
pleasantly decorated and very well equipped.
